Sell Your Firearm on Consignment

Raven Rock Armory accepts eligible firearms on consignment for customers who want help selling their firearm through a licensed local gun shop. Our consignment service is designed to make the selling process easier by helping evaluate the firearm, research current market pricing, display the firearm in-store, and advertise it online where appropriate.

When you bring in a firearm for consignment, Raven Rock Armory will review the firearm and discuss a suggested selling price based on available market research. This may include looking at current or recently completed listings on GunBroker and other commonly used firearm marketplaces or pricing resources to help determine a realistic selling price.

The consignee will make the final decision on the listed selling price. Once the consignment price and terms are agreed upon, Raven Rock Armory will consign the firearm, offer it for sale in-store, and may also advertise or list the firearm on GunBroker to help reach more potential buyers.

How the Firearm Consignment Process Works

  1. Bring in your firearm: The firearm must be brought to Raven Rock Armory for review, intake, and eligibility confirmation.
  2. Market price research: RRA will review available market pricing using GunBroker and/or other popular firearm pricing resources.
  3. Set the asking price: The consignee approves the selling price before the firearm is listed or offered for sale.
  4. In-store and online exposure: RRA may display the firearm in-store and advertise or post the firearm on GunBroker.
  5. Buyer pays applicable costs: The buyer is responsible for shipping, taxes, transfer fees, and any other applicable charges.
  6. Payment after sale: Once the firearm sells and the transaction is completed, RRA retains the agreed selling fee and pays the remaining proceeds to the consignee.

Consignment Selling Fee

Raven Rock Armory retains a 25% consignment selling fee from the total sale price of the firearm once it is sold. The buyer is responsible for shipping, taxes, transfer fees, and any other applicable charges related to the purchase.

Example: If a consigned firearm sells for $1,000, Raven Rock Armory retains a 25% selling fee, and the remaining proceeds are paid to the consignee after the sale is completed and all applicable transaction requirements are satisfied.

Pricing and Negotiation Options

The consignee controls the approved selling price. During the consignment intake process, the consignee may also authorize Raven Rock Armory to negotiate the final selling price within a specific percentage or dollar range.

For example, the consignee may allow Raven Rock Armory to negotiate the price down by a certain percentage if a qualified buyer makes a reasonable offer. If the offer is outside the approved negotiation range, Raven Rock Armory can contact the consignee for approval before accepting the final sale price.

Consignee Authorization Options

When consigning a firearm, the consignee may choose one of the following options:

  • Fixed price only: RRA lists the firearm at the approved price and does not accept lower offers without contacting the consignee.
  • Authorized negotiation range: The consignee gives RRA permission to negotiate up or down within an agreed percentage or dollar amount.
  • Call for approval: RRA contacts the consignee before accepting any offer below the listed price.

GunBroker and Online Listings

Raven Rock Armory may list eligible consignment firearms on GunBroker or other appropriate sales channels to increase visibility. Online listings may include photos, firearm details, condition notes, shipping terms, payment terms, and required FFL transfer information.

Once listed online, the firearm may be subject to the rules and limitations of the platform. Some listings may not be editable or cancelable once bids or offers are active. Raven Rock Armory will manage the listing process and communicate with the consignee when needed.

Firearm Condition and Eligibility

All firearms accepted for consignment are subject to review by Raven Rock Armory. RRA may decline to consign firearms that are unsafe, incomplete, improperly modified, restricted, difficult to verify, or otherwise unsuitable for sale.

The consignee is responsible for providing accurate information about the firearm, including known defects, prior modifications, included accessories, original box, magazines, optics, or any other items that will be included with the sale.

Important Legal and Transfer Information

All firearm sales must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Firearms must transfer through a valid FFL where required. Buyers are responsible for any applicable transfer fees, shipping charges, taxes, background check requirements, and legal eligibility to purchase or receive the firearm.

Raven Rock Armory reserves the right to refuse any consignment, sale, transfer, or transaction that does not comply with applicable law, store policy, or firearm transfer requirements.
