Scope Rings

Scope rings clamp around the riflescope tube and attach it to a compatible base or rail. Ring diameter must match the scope tube, with common sizes including 1 inch, 30mm, and 34mm. Other tube diameters are also available for certain optics.

One-Piece Scope Mounts

One-piece mounts combine both scope-ring positions into a single mounting system. They are commonly used on rifles with continuous rail space and can simplify alignment and installation.

Cantilever Scope Mounts

Cantilever mounts extend the scope forward from the mounting position. This can provide additional flexibility for achieving proper eye relief on rifles where receiver or rail space is limited.

Scope Bases & Rails

Bases and rails provide the mounting interface between the firearm and the scope rings or mount. Options may include Picatinny-style rails, Weaver-compatible bases, and firearm-specific mounting systems.

Choosing Scope Rings & Mounts

• Tube Diameter: Match ring or mount diameter to the exact outside diameter of the riflescope tube.
• Mounting Interface: Confirm compatibility with the firearm's rail, receiver, base, or manufacturer-specific mounting system.
• Height: Choose a mounting height that provides appropriate objective-lens clearance and a comfortable sight picture.
• Eye Relief: Make sure the mount allows enough front-to-rear adjustment to position the scope correctly for the shooter.

Low, Medium & High Scope Rings

Ring height affects the distance between the optic and firearm. Lower mounting can provide a compact setup when adequate clearance exists, while larger objectives, receiver geometry, iron sights, or other equipment may require additional height.

1-Inch, 30mm & 34mm Scope Tubes

Scope-ring diameter is determined by the scope's main tube, not the objective-lens diameter. Always verify the manufacturer specification before selecting rings or a one-piece mount.

Picatinny & Weaver Compatibility

Picatinny and Weaver-style mounting systems are similar but are not identical in every dimension. Confirm the specific mount and rail compatibility rather than assuming all hardware is interchangeable.

Fixed vs. Quick-Detach Mounts

Fixed mounts use conventional fasteners to remain installed on the firearm, while quick-detach designs use lever or other release systems for easier optic removal. Features and return-to-position performance vary by manufacturer and design.

Scope Clearance

Check clearance between the objective bell and barrel or handguard, as well as clearance around the eyepiece, bolt handle, charging handle, rear sight, and other nearby components.

Mount Installation

Follow the firearm, optic, ring, and mount manufacturers' instructions for mounting position, hardware sequence, thread treatment, and torque specifications. Uneven or excessive tightening can damage mounting hardware or the optic.

Check Mounting Hardware Regularly

Inspect scope rings, bases, rails, screws, and mounting hardware periodically for movement, wear, or damage. Verify the optic's zero after installation or whenever mounting hardware has been removed, adjusted, or serviced.
